Borrow a legend. Make your move.
Rental Legend is a turn-based dungeon crawler for iPhone in which you descend into dungeons with techniques borrowed from the legends of history.
Every step you take, the enemies take one too. Retreat before you are surrounded, or spend a borrowed technique now? Each move is a small decision.
Defeat a dungeon's guardian and return alive, and that figure joins your mentors. Gear you bring home can be upgraded at the town forge for the next run.
Features
Mentors. Set out with a main and a sub; each pair changes how a floor can be solved.
Dungeons, from a 4-floor mine to the 99-floor hidden archive.
Floors in the deepest dungeon, with a guardian on the last.
Save after every move. Stop any time.
Featured mentors
Transparent PNG, 1254×1254. Technique scenes are 1846×852.

Technique: Broken Rhythm ― stops a guardian's great attack

Technique: Swallow Cut ― strikes up to two squares away, twice

Technique: Machine Arm ― pushes an adjacent enemy three squares

Developer
I made this game because I was worried about children spending their days scrolling short vertical videos, chasing quick hits of dopamine. It is no exaggeration to say I made it for children.
A roguelike makes you think. You calculate damage, manage your health and your supplies, and decide how to spend limited resources, all at the same time. I believe that kind of thinking helps in life.
Borrowing mentors is meant to be a natural first step into history. Over time, I want players who master a mentor to be able to go further, to videos and pages about that person, and learn more. I want to blend games and learning: game education.
If that part does not interest you, you can skip it. The game is made to be fun on its own.
